KETI Develops Wireless Communication Technology Named Koinonia
August 26, 2005
KETI (The Korean Electronics Technology Institute) has developed a wireless communication technology called Koinonia with MOCIE (Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy) and MIC (Ministry of Information and Communication). Koinonia enables up to 250 digital devices to exchange multimedia data freely and is undergoing commercialization via Korean operators. Featuring less noise than WLAN and Bluetooth, Koinonia 1.0 uses the 2.4 GHz ISM band and can achieve transmission speeds up to 12MHz. Konionia has been certificated by ISO (International Standardization Organization) in July 2005 as the working draft of an international standard in WLAN sector.
